Introduction:
Programmers United is hosting a competition for all those artists hoping to be featured in a Programming Group. Now what are the benefits of this, you might ask yourself? Well Programmers are often looking for artists to PAY in order to create artworks to match their brilliant programming. Imagine what it might mean for you if your work ends up being the new Facebook logo, or a when people open their Google browsers they find your own uniquely signed Google animation. While expectations are high there is no guarantee that any one of our programs will ever be that big, but with a little hope, aspiration and the support of a Art and programming community, anything is possible:D
....So Come join in on the competition, spread the word and walk through the gallery's of all the contestantsGallery

Criteria:
What is the challenge? Well as the title says you are tasked with creating Emoticons for Programmers:coding:  . Since we are talking about the coding community, gamers, technical lovers and app developers, we will need you as the artiest to create animations that can relate to these digital minded Deviants :) while making a bunch of programmers very happy;P

Requirements:
  • All submissions must be animated(Gif's)
  • You must submit 1-3 different animations
  • You have a deadline of 2 weeks before submitting your first work in progress.
  • Your animations can be long or short, as long as you have fun making them that is all that matters

Prizes:
Finally we get to the interesting bit of the competition, the prizesBirthday Glomp emoticon . All submissions will be featured in our feature gallery, but randomly throughout the year we will select a the best Artworks and feature them in this journal entry. Currently Programmers United is still in its early development, we don't have many points to offer, but we are Programmers. If you are not happy with the prizes you can ask me personally to write a program for you, and Bingo Bango there you go your own personal custom made softwareGIF Adventure Time - Claps . However in order to qualify to be awarded your own personal software you must first win one of the following places in our competition.

Programmers Unite, Trophy by Precipitous1201st place

Programmers Unite, Trophy by Precipitous1202nd place

Programmers Unite, Trophy by Precipitous1203rd place

What the Judges will be looking for:

Length:
Is your animation long short or medium, we are looking for the number of frames used in your animation, the more the better.

Loop: Is your animation a perfect loop, from beginning to end does it flow seamlessly without hitting a visible reset period with the animation jumping back to the beginning.

Number of Characters: How many characters does each animation have, again the more the better but don't get too crowded ok

Collaboration: Did you work on this project with another artist or all by yourself. Depending on how amazing your submission is, this can either play in your favour or against you. If you submit something Amazing then you get bonus points, it you submit something just OK you loose points.

Audience: How popular is your submission. Depending on the number of views on your work we might decide to give you a higher score. You can achieve more viewership in many way, using popular characters from anime movies and art won't hurt your points.

Standard submission rules:
  • All contestants must already be an established member of the group(at least for a week)
  • Contestants must submit progress reports so that we know they are still participating throughout the competition(This also gives other competitors an idea of the level of art being submitted).
  • sex, language and extreme violence is not an acceptable submission
  • All submissions must be in accordance with the Competition guild lines and rules(as each competition might have their own unique set of rules)

Additional rules:
